Here at Ireleth St Peter's, we enjoy playing an active part in community events and helping those around us.
Our Facebook, Instagram and Class Dojo pages show regular updates of everything we engage in.
Take a look at some of the events we have been involved in....
In February, ISP were contacted by Dowdales School to visit the area in which they are creating a fantastic new Nature Trail on their grounds. School Parliament went to look around the site and share any ideas they had that might help in making it useful for school groups when visiting.
The children in Whale Class and Shark Class have been enjoying knitting sessions with the ladies from the WI. This is a valuable skill that many of the children had never had the opportunity to try. They have found it tricky but have shown fantastic perseverance.
This term, we have enjoyed working closely with Dowdales School. Shark Class have enjoyed learning German with a modern foreign languages teacher from Dowdale and Whale Class enjoyed some fantastic workshops with some perfoming arts students before their nativity.
It was lovely to be able to have the local community back into school for our annual Christmas Fair.
There was a fantastic turnout and lots of happy smiling faces.
Every year, ISP enjoys visiting the residents at The Old Vicarage Nursing Home for a carol service. Sadly, we were unable to be there in person this year but Shark Class and Whale Class thoroughly enjoyed singing and signing over zoom this year. We even joined together with the residents for a joint rendition of 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas.'
Dolphin Class Virtual Tour of Barrow Fire Station - November 2021
Dolphin Class enjoyed a virtual tour of Barrow Fire Station with White Squad. They asked some wonderful questions and were invited to visit in person when COVID restrictions allow!

Many of the ISP children, families and staff enjoyed the Askam and Ireleth Light Switch On this year. As a school, the children thoroughly enjoyed designing creative Christmas cards for the annual competion held in Askam.

The firemen of Red Watch visited the ISP to share some valuable information about fire and firework safety in the run up to bonfire night. The children really enjoyed learning about some of the equipment the firemen use.
This year, we enjoyed having families and people from the local community in for coffee and cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research. Each class sang a song for those attending and the school raised lots of money for Macmillan.
This year at ISP, we are focussing on road safety. We have been very lucky to work closely with the CCPT and the fire service
and have taken part in some amazing activites and experiences.
